युधिष्ठिर उवाच आमन्त्रयामि भरतांस्तथा वृद्धं पितामहम् राजानं सोमदत्तं च महाराजं च बाह्लिकम्
Yudhiṣṭhira said: "I bid farewell to all the descendants of the Bhārata lineage, my old grandfather, King Somadatta and the great king Bahlika.
युधिष्ठिर ने कहा: "मैं भरत वंश के सभी वंशजों, मेरे बूढ़े दादा, राजा सोमदत्त और महान राजा बाह्लीक को विदाई देता हूं।

द्रोणं कृपं नृपांश्चान्यानश्वत्थामानमेव च विदुरं धृतराष्ट्रं च धार्तराष्ट्रांश्च सर्वशः
And to Droṇa, Kṛpa, all the other kings, Aśvatthāma, Vidūra, Dhṛtarāṣṭra and to all of Dhṛtarāṣṭra's sons.
और द्रोण, कृप, अन्य सभी राजाओं, अश्वत्थामा, विदुर, धृतराष्ट्र और धृतराष्ट्र के सभी पुत्रों को।
And to Yuyutsu, Sañjaya and all the others who are in this assembly. I am bidding farewell to all of you before I go. I will no doubt see you again on my return."
और युयुत्सु, संजय और अन्य सभी लोग जो इस सभा में हैं। जाने से पहले मैं आप सभी से विदा ले रहा हूं। निःसंदेह मैं वापस लौटने पर आपसे दोबारा मिलूंगा।"

वैशंपायन उवाच न च किंचित्तदोचुस्ते ह्रिया सन्तो युधिष्ठिरम् मनोभिरेव कल्याणं दध्युस्ते तस्य धीमतः
Vaiśampāyana said: Out of shame, the righteous ones who were there could not say a word to Yudhiṣṭhira. But in their minds, they wished for the welfare of the intelligent one.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा: शर्म के मारे, जो धर्मात्मा वहां थे, वे युधिष्ठिर से एक शब्द भी नहीं कह सके। परन्तु वे मन ही मन बुद्धिमान के कल्याण की कामना करते थे।

विदुर उवाच आर्या पृथा राजपुत्री नारण्यं गन्तुमर्हति सुकुमारी च वृद्धा च नित्यं चैव सुखोचिता
Vidūra said: "Āryā Pṛthā is a princess. She should not go to the forest. She is delicate and old and has always been used to comfort.
विदुर ने कहा: "आर्या पृथा एक राजकुमारी है। उसे जंगल में नहीं जाना चाहिए। वह नाजुक और बूढ़ी है और हमेशा आराम के लिए इस्तेमाल की गई है।"
The illustrious one will remain in my house and be shown proper homage. O Pārtha-s! Know this. And may you have welfare in every way.
वह प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति मेरे घर में रहेगा और उसे उचित सम्मान दिया जाएगा। हे पार्थ! ये जानिए. और आपका हर तरह से कल्याण हो.

युधिष्ठिर विजानीहि ममेदं भरतर्षभ नाधर्मेण जितः कश्चिद्व्यथते वै पराजयात्
O Yudhiṣṭhira! O bull among the Bhārata lineage! Know this to be my view that one who has been vanquished against dharma, never suffers from that defeat.
हे युधिष्ठिर! हे भरत वंश में बैल! मेरा यह मत समझो कि जो धर्म के विरुद्ध पराजित हुआ है, उसे उस पराजय का कभी दुःख नहीं होता।
You know dharma. Dhanañjayā is knowledgeable in war. Bhīmasena is the slayer of enemies. Nākula is one who collects wealth.
आप धर्म को जानते हैं. धनंजय युद्ध के जानकार हैं। भीमसेन शत्रुओं का वध करने वाले हैं। नकुल वह है जो धन संग्रह करता है।
Sahadeva is the one who administers. Dhaumya is supreme among those who know the brāhman. Draupadī always follows the path of dharma and is skilled in the ways of dharma and artha.
सहदेव वह है जो प्रशासन करता है। ब्रह्म को जानने वालों में धौम्य सर्वोच्च है। द्रौपदी सदैव धर्म के मार्ग पर चलती हैं और धर्म तथा अर्थ में कुशल हैं।

अन्योन्यस्य प्रियाः सर्वे तथैव प्रियवादिनः परैरभेद्याः संतुष्टाः को वो न स्पृहयेदिह
You love one another and always have kind words for each other. Because you are satisfied, you cannot be divided by enemies.
आप एक-दूसरे से प्यार करते हैं और हमेशा एक-दूसरे के लिए दयालु शब्द रखते हैं। क्योंकि आप संतुष्ट हैं, शत्रु आपको विभाजित नहीं कर सकते।
O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! This tranquillity brings welfare of every kind. No enemy can attack it, even if he is the equal of Śākra.
हे भरत वंश के वंशज! यह शांति हर प्रकार का कल्याण करती है। कोई भी शत्रु उस पर आक्रमण नहीं कर सकता, भले ही वह शक्र के समकक्ष ही क्यों न हो।

Rāma on the peak of Mount Bhṛgu and Śambhu by the Dṛṣadvatī. Near Añjana, you have heard maharṣi Asita.
भृगु पर्वत के शिखर पर राम और दृषद्वती द्वारा शम्भू। अंजना के पास, आपने महर्षि असित को सुना है।

द्रष्टा सदा नारदस्य धौम्यस्तेऽयं पुरोहितः मा हार्षीः सांपराये त्वं बुद्धिं तामृषिपूजिताम्
Dhaumya is your priest and there is Nārada, who is always a witness. Do not give up the insight and intelligence that the riṣi-s show homage to.
धौम्य आपके पुरोहित हैं और नारद हैं, जो सदैव साक्षी रहते हैं। उस अंतर्दृष्टि और बुद्धिमत्ता को मत छोड़ो जिसके प्रति ऋषि लोग श्रद्धा व्यक्त करते हैं।
O Pāṇḍava! With your intelligence you surpass Pururava, the son of Ilā; with your strength you surpass the other kings; and in your service of dharma, you surpass the riṣi-s.
हे पाण्डव! अपनी बुद्धि से आप इला के पुत्र पुरुरवा से भी आगे निकल जाते हैं; तू अपने बल से अन्य राजाओं से आगे निकल जाता है; और धर्म की सेवा में आप ऋषियों से भी आगे निकल जाते हैं।
Set your minds on victory with Indra's resolution, Yāma's control over anger, Kubera's charity and Vāruṇa's self-control.
इंद्र के संकल्प, यम के क्रोध पर नियंत्रण, कुबेर के दान और वरुण के आत्म-संयम के साथ विजय पर अपना मन लगाओ।
In giving up one's self, you are like the moon. Obtain the sustenance of life from the water, forbearance from the earth, energy from the sun's disc
स्वयं को त्यागने में, आप चंद्रमा के समान हैं। जल से जीवन का पोषण, पृथ्वी से सहनशीलता, सूर्य की डिस्क से ऊर्जा प्राप्त करें
and strength from the wind. Know that your own prosperity is due to the elements. May you be fortunate. May you be free from disease. I will see you return.
और हवा से ताकत. जान लें कि आपकी अपनी समृद्धि तत्वों के कारण है। आप भाग्यशाली रहें. आप रोगमुक्त रहें. मैं तुम्हें वापस आते देखूंगा.

आपद्धर्मार्थकृच्छ्रेषु सर्वकार्येषु वा पुनः यथावत्प्रतिपद्येथाः काले काले युधिष्ठिर
O Yudhiṣṭhira! May you always act properly in all your deeds, in accordance with the principles of dharma and artha for times of calamity and distress.
हे युधिष्ठिर! आप विपत्ति और संकट के समय हमेशा धर्म और अर्थ के सिद्धांतों के अनुसार अपने सभी कर्मों में उचित रूप से कार्य करें।
O Kaunteya! O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! I give you leave to depart. May you find what is good for you. I will see you again when you return, successful and content."
हे कौन्तेय! हे भरत वंश के वंशज! मैं तुम्हें प्रस्थान करने की अनुमति देता हूं। क्या आपको वह मिल सकता है जो आपके लिए अच्छा है। जब तुम वापस आओगे तो मैं तुम्हें फिर से देखूंगा, सफल और संतुष्ट।"
Vaiśampāyana said: Thus addressed, the Pāṇḍava, whose valour was his truth, replied, "Thus shall it be." Bowing to Bhīṣma and Droṇa, Yudhiṣṭhira went away.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा: इस प्रकार संबोधित करते हुए, पांडव, जिनकी वीरता ही उनका सत्य था, ने उत्तर दिया, "ऐसा ही होगा।" भीष्म और द्रोण को प्रणाम करके युधिष्ठिर चले गये।
